About Laura

Laura is better known as a Bay tree and is a timeless plant, with good reason: it's hard to make her look out of place whether she's on a small balcony or a larger terraced garden. As well as being among our edible plants, Laura is also very low maintenance. Win win.

Details

Laura is an evergreen tree who will bring greenery to your space and whose aromatic, leathery leaves will help flavour your stews and sauces! She is a slow-grower so when planted in a pot should not grow beyond 1.75m. Her typical lifespan when grown in a container is 10-15 years.

Laura comes in two different heights listed below:
Lollypop: 130-140cm
Lollypop: 150-160cm

Likes

Laura is a big fan of the sun but also likes a mixture of sun and shade.

Dislikes

Don't be tempted to water Laura too frequently as over-watering could cause damage to her roots.

Looking after this plant

To keep Laura's foliage looking neat, give her leaves a trim in late summer or early autumn. For extra nourishment, add liquid fertiliser to her compost every two weeks from mid-spring to late-summer. If she's to be planted in one of our 40cm pots, she'll need one of these 60L bags of multi-purpose compost.
